The Ham of the Sandwich is the Beta Club. They have taken the liberty to do some projects around the school, mostly clean up.
The Student Council will soon be hosting fun day. Though the games have yet to be decided this year, it is confirmed that we will be having the volley ball tournament again this year, seeing that it was a smashing success last year.
Drama Club has been making tremendous progress on the play, even doing rehearsals during Spring Break. The school performance will be April 17th and the public performance will be April 19th @ 2:00 PM. In the Forrest auditorium. Price of tickets will be $5. School performance will cost $3. We interviewed Kaitlin Patin, who is playing as the lead role, Elle, to see how she feels about the upcoming performance. “I think it will be very successful and very entertaining. Being the lead role is very nerve wracking, but I like it.” We also asked Lexi Dejkoski, one of the seven dwarves in the play, how she feels about the play and her role. She says being one of the seven dwarves is awesome because they play as the comic relief of the performance and she hopes it will be a success.
The Ham this week is Student Council with the upcoming Fun Day. Students, get ready to have a blast on the best day out of the school year other than the weekends. Fun Day is a fun filled day with activities and games such as egg toss, one-legged race, and much more that will be held in the new gym. Concessions will also be sold during the events to raise funds for the student council. Also on March 26, 2015 the Student Council went through the entire school hiding eggs. These eggs were full of candy for the little children of Forrest High School.
In other news, Beta Club is doing community service projects around the school and will soon do a community project at the Marshall County Public Library.
The Ham of the Sandwich this week is the Student Council! They have put together the annual Shamrock Day, where all boys are given a shamrock and put their names on it. The boys lose these shamrocks by talking to girls. The girl with the most shamrocks by the end of the day is proclaimed Queen of Shamrocks. Ivy Burkes was this year’s Queen of Shamrocks with 20 shamrocks! We asked her how it felt to be the new queen. She replied “I feel kind of special, actually. I feel like I’m actually loved!” How sweet! She received a big Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar as her prize. The Student Council is also hosting Fun Day! There will be many activities and games inside the new gym.
Beta Club is still continuing their Burger King nights to raise funds. Come donate at the Lewisburg Burger King today!
The Drama Club is still working hard to put on the next play Forgiven: A Fairy Tale. Costumes are being made as well as the props.
This installment of Ham is about the drama club. Last week, Mr. Smith made final decisions on his cast and crew for the spring production of Forgiven: A Fairy Tale. This inspirational story about the power of forgiveness is delightfully fun and full of heart. With plenty of great fairytale roles to go around, this fractured fairy tale explores how kindness and forgiveness can be shown to anyone, even those who have done terrible things. Elizadora is an outcast who is horribly misunderstood by her fairy-tale classmates — Cinderella, Goldilocks, King Midas, a bunch of feuding elves and more! When they all seemingly do her wrong, she turns against them all. Her hateful heart transforms her into the famous fairytale wicked witch, as one-by-one she plots against her former classmates with tricks and curses. Unwilling to allow an evil witch to curse the entire kingdom, her former classmates form a witch hunt, but when they eventually find and recognize Elizadora, they do something she could have never expected... they forgive her and ask that she forgive them in return. Their simple act of love and kindness moves Elizadora to right all the wrongs and give up evil for good. This information is from http://www.pioneerdrama.com.
